Registration opens for Writers at the Beach conference
The Rehoboth Beach Writers’ Guild is once again gearing up for its annual three-day writers’ conference, set for March 26-28, at the Atlantic Sands Hotel in Rehoboth Beach. Writers at the Beach: Pure Sea Glass Conference has launched its new web site developed by M19 Media, a Wilmington-based marketing, design and strategy firm.
The site is built around the orange sea glass image donated by Annapolis-based artist Celia Pearson, photographer of the award-winning book, “Pure Sea Glass.” Full Article

Writers at the Beach: A Great Conference, a Grand Time, a Good Cause
I have great admiration for conference founder and executive director Maribeth Fischer and the members of the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild. She and they are the volunteers that make sure every aspect of the Conference runs smoothly and seamlessly. In fact, everything to do with Writers at the Beach is donated from the elegant, minamalist website designed by Franklin Parrish of M19 Media in Wilmington, Delaware to the homemade breakfast buffet that appeared every morning in the hospitality suite. If you have ever been a part of running any kind of conference -- I have -- you will know this to be true, and if you have never been involved in running a conference, I will tell you: Planning, preparing for and presenting a three-day conference is a Herculean task and Maribeth and the Rehoboth Guild make it look easy...
...I was very pleased with the workshops and discussions I attended, in particular, "Creating Dramatic Scenes that Work" with Khris Baxter; "Writing Dialogue That Matters" with Robert Bausch; "Glancing At Our Watches: Why Literary Readings are Often Boring" with poet, Anne Colwell and actor/professor, James Keegan; "The Story of You: Websites for Writers" with Franklin Parrish of M19 Media and "Raising Voice: From Whisper to Howl" with Dustin Beall Smith .

SUMMER LUNCH CREW
Child Nutrition Services of the Christina School District runs a summer feeding program for needy kids. Each summer, CNS opens schools and provides 2 meals per day to thousands of kids and their families. The program was making a difference, but the leadership knew that they could do more. That’s where M19 MEDIA came in. We branded the program as the Summer Lunch Crew and began an aggressive multi-channel advertising program, including Public Service Announcements and mass transit ads. The ad channels directed interested individuals to phone or visit the website to register.
CNS made an investment of $17,000 in 2009, leading to an increase of more than 100% in participation, and $140,000 in gross revenues which also represented a significant increase over the prior year.

Why do I need a website? My business is doing just fine without it.
Well, you said it yourself. Your business is doing just fine. Your business can EXCEL with a web presence that can handle many of your more repetitive functions like answering general inquiry phone calls. Your website can be an awesome communications tool. You can reach all of your customers and prospective customers at once with a simple change to your content.
My nephew knows how to build web sites. He’ll do it for free. Why can’t I just use him?
Using a friend or a relative may seem like a good idea at first, but such an arrangement can get complicated-fast. Does your friend or relative know about marketing? How much does web site design cost?
There’s no real answer to that except that it depends. Many use the house analogy. A simple house can be very inexpensive. But when you start adding amenities, the price goes up. At M19 MEDIA, we generally quote you a flat rate based on design time for your particular project. With the exception of extra content like stock video or photography, you’ll never pay a penny more than your contract states provided the project itself doesn’t change. That makes using M19 MEDIA easy on your budget. There are no hidden costs.
How can I afford to be on TV?
TV in the Delaware and surrounding markets is surprisingly affordable. Plus we can avoid high production costs by using stock video that we can customize to suit your particular TV need. If you do need custom video shot, then M19 MEDIA can make the arrangements for studio time and a crack videographer.
I can make my logo from clipart. Why pay you?
